More Work!
A little bit of design, a dash of studio. You better believe I have the full range baby!
“2XL and Petite”
2XL and Petite is a piece that combines a store bought sweater top with a hand woven bottom. The upper half is loose and comforting made with a softer material while the lower half is rigid and tight, made with an uncomfortable and itchy wool. 2XL and Petite represent unrealistic body standards larger bodied people face, and the pressure to assimilate to societal body standards.
“A Flag For Love”
A flag made in honor of my marriage and the many phases it’s gone through over our many years together
“The Kao Nashi Man”
The Kao Nashi Man is a self-generated cryptid that steals the faces of others and turns them into masks for themselves. These masks were created by taking a silicone mold of my own face and then setting them in plaster. The coloring was accomplished through the application of cosmetic products.
“Multitabs”
Multitabs represents a culmination of my work throughout 2020, all composited into one chaotic screen of overlapping tabs. Each tab features at least one alteration and insertion of art that I created. Mutlitabs serves as a representation of my experience taking five studio classes at the same, totaling to 30 hours in class each week.
“Evacuate”
In the midst of a global pandemic, Evacuate channels the emotional turmoil of a student fearing for their health and safety.
“Levine Hall Mural Project”
These murals are part of a nine piece set designed for the Leon Levine Hall of Health Sciences. When approached by the school I was tasked with a team to create murals for their newly renovated baron building. After several consultations with faculty, students, and staff my team decided to design the murals after their nine different degrees with a minimalist approach to avoid overly distracting visuals. From my conversations with the students who’d interacted with the design the most, bright, stimulating colors, content related to their everyday teachings, and a diverse representation of their community were three of their largest concerns and a focus in the overall mural design.

“Putty Heart”
Putty Heart is a personal experimentation into the depiction of the mundane and overlooked in a visually interesting and thought provoking manner. The piece itself is a cross contour depiction of a wad of wall putty wrapped around an industrial strength zip tie and a pine branch.
